Sworn to the Queen

Sworn to the Queen: a law against touching, and a ruler who tests it

Sworn to the Queen rests on a single law: anyone who touches the queen dies. Needing a guard for her bedchamber door, the queen selects the lowest-born soldier in the castle, a man who was bound for the stables until she noticed him.

His sword has nothing to do with it. She says she picked him because when she looks, he looks back. The rule forbids his hands on her, but it is silent about hers on him, and she uses that gap every night, so his post becomes a nightly gamble with his life.

Episode 2 attaches a date: the court will soon pick her husband, and she announces that tonight she does not want to be treated as a queen. Across five episodes this Candy Shorts court fantasy is driven by dares and power games.

A queen, a lowborn guard and a crown held in both hands

Candy lists no cast for this series, which rules out a star or a licensed twin. Both leads are invented characters, and both are adults.

The queen owns every scene, amused, exact and dangerous. The guard is the outsider with the most to lose, replying in formal courtesy while his nerves show. The story stays inside the castle: a bedchamber door, a corridor, and a court waiting to settle her marriage.
